This Slideshow is of people we met in Bhutan and India during our visit there in 2009. In general the pictures progress from Bhutan through to southern India.
We started our adventure in Calcutta. After the shock of poverty, we flew to Paro Bhutan, then to Timphu and the remote areas. Then we flew to Delhi and on to Jaipur, Ranthambhore, Geejgar, Agra, Varanasi and Cochin. We finished our visit in Mumbai. The map below will give you a general feeling for our path.
Many of the smiling faces were produced by my “magic”. I have one wonderful rope trick that I perform very well and often. Whenever we were in the company of locals I would “put on my show”. I would enhance the joy by opening my hand to show the tangle of ropes responsible for the illusion. They loved it! And Merle was ready with her camera to catch their response.
